Risk Management – It’s Not Just a Planning Exercise!

Risk Management – It’s Not Just a Planning Exercise!

Most project managers focus on project risk during the planning phase of the project. Indeed, many organizations require a risk analysis as part of the approval process before a project can proceed. However, all too often this analysis is then stored and never looked at again, which can often result in serious problems during execution.
In this session, we will briefly review the types of risk that a project may encounter, the evaluation of the probability and impact of these risks, and the types of possible responses to these risks that could arise during planning.
We will then proceed to discuss how to maintain the risk register and response plan as a living document over the entire project to ensure that the team is always ready – reconsidering known risks, discussing possible new risks, and evaluating the best responses to these risks.
