The Role of Organizational Culture in Successful Change

The presentation will open by discussing the roles of culture with regards to change and leadership. Once project culture has been defined, the presentation will demonstrate how it applies to project management. The next step would be to introduce the cultural model used in the book. The Understand – Build – Launch model would then be applied to some sample projects. The participants will be given a copy of the model used in the book.

The presentation will then explain a model for understanding and leading an organization that is undergoing change. Participants will be given a detailed explanation of the model along with examples. The presenter will address any questions regarding the model and the application.

Participants will then be given a short case study to review and then be required to apply. Participants will be encouraged to share their methodology and plan with others. If no one participates, the presenter will offer a couple of different ways that the model could apply to the case study that was discussed. The presenter and the group will offer feedback and any modifications to improve the application of the model. The presentation will end with a debrief of the different approaches and the application of the model.
