There is a growing, international trend to capture and share health care information electronically to improve the quality, safety and benefit of all healthcare clients and their families. This emerging field is referred to as eHealth (Electronic Healthcare). Technology provides the ability to capture, consolidate, transfer and deliver this information to health care professionals requiring access to all patient medical records, including recent and past surgeries, treatments, prescriptions and laboratory results 

Billions are being spent globally to address this growing need through large, complex, IT projects; however, the historical success rate of these types of initiatives may impact the ability to deliver. 

Application of project management best practices, facilitated through the centralized services of a PMO, will aid in the early identification of key stakeholders to ensure that their diverse interests, requirements and business operating constraints are taken into consideration, improving buy-in and project success.
