The IT and Telecom SIG targets highly knowledgeable and experienced project management and technology professionals in the Information Technology and Telecommunications industries. Our members are leaders of technically advanced projects that involve both Information Technology and Telecommunications. They help one another through scholarship, mentoring, and on-line information exchange programs. The SIG directly supports members' work efforts (and the earning of PDUs) through networking, information and tools provided in newsletters, on the web site, and frequent webinars.
 
Technology and Telecommunications constitute the greater part of most mission-critical projects today. These projects often create real business advantage and are the underpinnings of major change. They share many common attributes, requiring:

The PMI IT&T SIG is focused on being recognized as the leader and enabler of a worldwide community of technology professionals. Toward that end we have adopted the following mission statement.

Scope
The IT and Telecom SIG targets all project managers in the Information Technology and Telecommunications industries. The Information Technology and Telecommunication industries include; Inter / Extra/ Intranet infrastructure and transmission, computer-telephony-television integration, voice/data/video transmission, networking and network management (including data storage, and local, metro, and wide area communications), provisioning, billing and customer care, PBX Telephone, voice response technology, and switching (analog or digital, terrestrial or satellite, microwave or fiber optic, cellular or wireless).

The IT and Telecom SIG also targets project managers in industries which use Information Technology and Telecommunications deliverables, and any of the providers of the infrastructure required to facilitate use of the Information Technology and Telecommunications deliverables, for example cable and wire companies, media providers, as well as software and system integrators.
