Needs Assessments Projects: Leading Edge Technology or Addressing the Operational Requirements

Description: Technology is evolving faster now than ever before. This  evolution  feeds  the temptation  to  procure  and  deploy  all  the  latest,  greatest  features  and  functions available, but are they really needed?

This session explores the balance between deploying leading edge and “future proof” networks and those that are more pragmatic to fulfill the operational need of today. Too much technology could confuse and frustrate the customer, too little could leave you obsolete before you know it.

In this session, we will discuss the responsibilities of an IT and Telecommunications project manager as they relate to facilitating the design, configuration and deployment of technology networks. Methods of determining the right “middle ground” for network functionality will be covered. Finally, we will discuss ways to evaluate and measure the success of setting the bar for functionality.
