The Concept Projects to the Point P2P ? Conference and Exhibition is an annual event, bringing gurus in Project Management from all over the world to share their best practices, case studies and experiences to the Middle East. After several years of outstanding success, P2P has become the region's annual gathering of project management practitioners, service providers, and stakeholders. Hosting speakers from all over the world, P2P is rich with knowledge transfer, experience sharing, and ample networking opportunities. Project, Program, Portfolio managers and professionals gather at P2P every year to enhance their practice and expose themselves to globally recognized best practices.
International Recognition P2P is has always been recognized by the leading figures of Project Management as a significant event of high importance and magnitude. PMI Chair Philip Diab and PMI Chair Ricardo Vargas as well as many members of PMI board of directors have honored P2P with opening speeches and presentations. The PMI Educational Foundation, PMI EMEA office, PMI Bookstore, PMI MENA Chapter, the PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter (AGC), and the PMI IT & Telecommunications Specific Interest Group (SIG) have taken active roles in the sponsorship and organization of P2P. Their contributions continue to be detrimental to the success of this hub of knowledge dissemination.
Governmental Recognition Governments have also seen the benefit of P2P to the local community. The conference has been held under the auspices of H.E. The Minister of State for Administrative Development and the Minister of Health of Egypt. Many governmental organizations have taken part, either by showcasing their projects or having their project managers and leaders benefit from the wealth of knowledge disseminated in the event.
Record Setting In 2008, P2P was the platform for the signing of the first ever Memorandum of Understanding between PMI and a government. The Ministry of State for Administrative Development signed an agreement with the PMI IT and Telecommunication SIG to build the capacity of and certify 2,000 Project Managers in the Egyptian Government as well as provide localized content.
Year?on?year Global Growth This year, P2P is extending its outreach throughout the region. The conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on April 28?30 2012. The conference board has decided to extend its reach to Project and Program Managers in the Arabian Gulf, bringing them the best of the best word?wide.
